Namaz Near Me helps people find nearby masjids, view jamaat timings, receive prayer reminders, and contribute corrected masjid information. Taqniva provides the app and is responsible for the practices described here.
Information processed
- Account and contributor information: an anonymous or phone-authenticated user ID, phone number used for OTP verification, contributor name, verification state, and reward or contribution history.
- Location: approximate or precise device location when you choose nearby-masjid features.
- Community contributions: masjid name, city, area, address, prayer timings, corrections, contribution metadata, and contributor credit.
- Optional media and voice input: images selected for prayer-board scanning and audio or recognised speech when you choose voice features.
- Device and technical information: app-integrity identifiers, device or installation identifiers, diagnostics, security events, and notification settings processed by the app, platform, or Firebase services.
- Local preferences: favourites, reminder configuration, session state, and app settings stored on your device.
Why we use information
We use information to provide nearby results and reminders, authenticate contributors, maintain contribution history and credit, process masjid updates, support board scanning and voice features, prevent abuse, protect data integrity, and maintain app reliability.
Public information
Masjid details and accepted timing contributions are intended to be public. Contributor credit may display a contributor name where the app provides that choice. Phone numbers are used for verification and private attribution and are not intended to be displayed as public contributor information.
Service providers and sharing
The app uses service providers such as Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Firebase App Check, Google ML Kit, device notification services, and device speech recognition or text-to-speech features. These providers may process information to supply their functions. We do not sell personal information and do not use contributor information for advertising tracking.
Permissions
Location, camera or photo access, microphone, and notifications are requested only for the related app feature. You may deny or later change permissions in device settings, although the related feature may then be unavailable.
Retention
Account and contributor information is retained while needed to operate the app, preserve the integrity and attribution of community updates, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Public masjid information may remain after personal identifiers are removed because it serves the wider community.
