Staff Lock Terms of Service

Effective and last updated: 17 July 2026

These terms govern an organization's ("customer organization", "you") subscription to and use of Staff Lock, an enterprise device-control service supplied and operated by Taqniva. By creating a Staff Lock workspace, enrolling a device, or otherwise using the service, you agree to these terms on behalf of your organization. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Who this is for

Staff Lock is built for organizations to manage devices they own or are otherwise authorized to fully manage — for example, organization-owned staff or reception phones. It is not intended for unmanaged personal devices, covert monitoring, or supervision of children. You are responsible for confirming you have the legal right and organizational authority to install and enforce Staff Lock on every enrolled device before doing so.

Your responsibilities as the customer organization

Subscriptions, plans, and billing

Staff Lock is offered on subscription plans with a staff-device seat limit, billed monthly or annually as selected at signup. A new workspace may begin with a limited-duration, limited-device trial for evaluation purposes. Exceeding your plan's seat limit may prevent further device enrollment until you upgrade or remove inactive seats. Fees are described at checkout or in your invoice and are non-refundable except where required by law or separately agreed in writing. We may change plan pricing or features on reasonable notice; continued use after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance.

Service availability

Staff Lock depends on the enrolled device's network connectivity, battery, operating-system permissions, and Google/Android platform services, as well as Taqniva's own infrastructure. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Enforcement is designed to fail toward releasing a device (rather than leaving it locked) when the service cannot verify current policy or location, so that staff safety is not compromised by a connectivity or service gap.

Emergency access

Staff Lock is designed to keep an emergency-calling path available on a restricted device. Your organization remains responsible for ensuring staff know how to reach emergency services and your own safety contacts regardless of device restriction state, and for promptly using Staff Lock's release controls if a safety situation requires it.

Acceptable use

You must not use Staff Lock to monitor or restrict a device without authority to do so, attempt to bypass subscription, seat, or role limits, interfere with the service's security controls or audit logging, extract or resell access to the service, or use it in violation of applicable law.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate a workspace for non-payment, a security risk to the service or other customers, or a material breach of these terms, and will make reasonable efforts to notify you first except where immediate action is needed to protect the service or its users. You may cancel your subscription at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and enrolled devices should be released and unenrolled by an administrator before or promptly after cancellation.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Taqniva is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, lost business, or workplace disputes arising from your configuration or use of duty-hours schedules, location-radius enforcement, approved-app lists, or administrator actions taken through Staff Lock. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms as the service, its providers, or applicable requirements change. Material changes will be reflected by the date above. Questions can be sent to hello@taqniva.com.
